Obama says he takes full responsibility for the bonuses AIG executives received after bailouts. Of course he gave that lots of caveats as to why he's not really responsible, he'll step forward and shoulder the heavy burden of responsibility.
What exactly does that mean? Is it like Janet Reno accepting responsibility for the deaths of those at Waco?
When you accept responsibility for something, it means you'll make it right. It means you'll take whatever consequences are due for it. Except in politico-speak, which Obama is adept at, it means nothing. That's right. It means absolutely nothing. We already knew where the responsibility lies, and it's with his administration's total screwup handling of EVERYTHING since they took office.
It's time we actually remembered what responsibility means.
