Widely discussed has been Obama's "Youth Brigade" which he is trying to create via HR138, "Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education". You'll also hear it referred to as "GIVE".
Apparently, Christian youth active in their churches are not to be part of this great endeavor. While government has always relied on the Christian church, and often been led by it in such issues as abolishing slavery, women's rights, and prison reform, Obama's new government has decided it wants to create only a SECULAR army, an army of youth led by no higher principles than what Obama is willing to instill for himself.

(7) Engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of religious proselytization.

Obama's Secret Agenda
While all eyes have been focused on the economy, Obama in his first 5 months has been very busy.
He has reversed the Mexico City policy ... allowing American taxpayer money to be sent overseas to fund abortions.
He removed the "conscience protections" for medical practicioners who refuse to participate in abortions.
He removed the ban on federal funding for embryonic stem cell research.
He pushed Congress to enact "Hate Crime" legislation as fast as possible. Think this doesn't affect you? The courts have deemed that in hate crimes, assault doesn't mean you are bodily injured. It can be interpreted to mean you were simply offended by speech.
He has appointed to key positions leftist radicals with agendas far to the left of common Americans.
He has taken control of banking institutions and public companies, expanding the role of government to include even the hiring and firing of influential executives of "public" companies.
He has given away to his banker friends the equivalent of ONE FULL YEAR of America's Gross Domestic Product.
As you can see, he's not been letting this "crisis" go to waste. It's time for everyone to choose sides in the coming culture war.

The Weeds Cometh
With the spring rains, the weeds are invading the garden. I'm about 3 weeks earlier than last year with my planting, and as a result the weeds are a nuisance about 3 weeks earlier as well.

Late Freeze
A late freeze has swept across Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. It’s been warm for quite awhile, but then suddenly the temperature decides to dip down where I live to a chilly 36 f. Take that, tomato plants!

Wasting
Signs in hotels, little placards, admonish us to do our part for the environment by conserving water. If we hang up our towels it will signify that we are a good citizen and then the maids will not wash them, thus saving water and energy. Does anyone believe that the hotels have established this program out of true concern for the environment? When hotels spring up left and right, displacing woodlands and pasture with their concrete parking lots and shoddy constructed buildings? No, I think it is advantageous to the hotels to not wash as much laundry and they are more concerned with conserving their own financial resources as opposed to the planetary resources. Yet still it is a good thing in a small way.
However these small illusions are not enough to stave off the disaster looming in mankind’s future. There is a biological law of all living things. When rabbits become too numerous, thus comes the wolves, or disease, or slow starvation as they exhaust the food supply. Human beings have yet to achieve such a technological superiority that we shall be able to avoid the consequences of that biological law. Oh, mankind will survive it, but a new society will be formed. Ragged survivors in small communities, existing but not thriving. Fortified encampments on the banks of mighty rivers where once there was commerce but now there is only small boats fishing. Empty and desolate highways where slowly expanding ditches reclaim the broken blacktop with sod and weeds.
